A new set of interview questions/information is now available on IGN's website about FFXIV. Some new information includes hints at the importance of weapons, game play, leveling and even that some of the trailer was indeed from in-game footage (I am still skeptical that it was just in-game cutscenes though).
New highlights include:
* Names may be able to be transferred from FFXI to FFXIV.
* The leveling system is not experience based and works on an entirely different system.
* Weapons will have a heavy influence on your character.
* Using different weapons will effect how your character develops.
* There is some kind of hidden meaning in the FFXIV logo, and it has to do with a wheel and weapons and not exposing your rear and you have to break AV's regen... wait...
* While WoW, Age of Conan and Warhammer all factored as considerations for development, it was mostly FFXI that has influenced FFXIV's development. (Thank fucking god).
* Chocobo's will be back but will be used differently.
* 2010 release after FFXIII, with a longer beta than FFXI.
Sounds like the game system might be FFII related. That could be a good or a bad thing.
